Shophouses were once the abode of merchants who did business on the ground level and their families lived in the floors above. The Inn is itself a coverted shophouse built before the WWII. Within Chinatown, these colorful shophouse lend an air of charm together with some chintzy souvenier shops and some genuine handicraft shops.
